WouldLikeToTeach was created to help doctoral researchers and research staff find opportunities to get teaching experience in Higher Education. Similarly, it was created to help Heads of Departments and Course Leaders to find people who are able to deliver teaching on an hourly-paid basis in Higher Education. However, it is not somewhere where you can expect to find a permanent or full-time job (for those, see www.jobs.ac.uk).

If you are looking for teaching opportunities, we call you 'teachers' whereas if you are looking for someone to teach for you then we call you 'employers'. You can see that each type of user has a page of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the left-hand menu, but feel free to read both to get an idea of how the site works.

If you are looking for teaching opportunities, you need to create a profile on the site by clicking on the register link at the bottom-left hand of the page. You will be prompted to enter some details to create an account and then sent an email to activate that account. Once activated, you can complete your profile so that it can be searched by 'employers'. It's important to ensure that you enter the right information into your profile so that you maximise your chances of your profile being discovered in a search; there is information on doing that by clicking on 'Registration advice'.

If you are looking for people who can provide teaching for you, i.e. you are a potential 'employer', you do not need to register. Instead, you can either 'Browse teachers' from the lower left-hand menu or you can 'Search teachers' where you can specify keywords for particular search fields.
