I am best known as a specialist in Victorian Painting and Victorian visual culture. However I have general art history teaching expertise in the following areas:

• Introductory courses to Art History – all periods and movements (BA1)
• Nineteenth-century and early Twentieth-Century European and American painting, sculpture, architecture, craft and design
• British art, architecture, craft, design and visual culture c.1789 – 1939 (esp. (esp. c. 1850 – 1910)
• Especially mid-late Victorian and Edwardian painting, sculpture, photography and ephemera
• Museology
• Art and the Senses

Have supervised a wide range of A Level dissertations spanning the history of Western Art.
